Synthetic rubbers
Rubber is an elastomer which can be obtained naturally (through latex) or synthetically (polymerisation of different monomers). Synthetic rubber has become indispensable to modern industry, and can be found in the most varied everyday products. In Portugal, it gains prominence in the footwear industry, as well as in the manufacture of tyres.
