Polystyrene
Polystyrene (PS) is a thermoplastic that results from the polymerisation of styrene monomer. The main Polystyrenes are Crystal PS and Anti-shock PS, both of which can be processed by extrusion, injection or thermoforming. Crystal PS is a high transparency, rigidity, low moisture absorption and easy colouring material. It is widely used for the manufacture of disposable packaging, cutlery, assorted boxes, etc.
Anti-shock PS contains 5 % to 10 % of elastomer, which gives it a good impact resistance. One of the biggest applications of Anti-shock PS is in refrigeration equipment, such as chest freezers, refrigerators or AC units.
We commercialise several grades of Polystyrene, both in Crystal and Anti-shock.
